Rucksacks, prams, child carriers, and similar bulky objects may not be taken into the castle. Please leave these items in your car or bus. Carrying and bringing in potentially dangerous items (such as weapons, explosive or flammable materials, knifes, tools, scissors, pepper sprays and glass bottles, etc. ) is not permitted . Photography and filming Photographing or filming for private purposes are not permitted in the castle. For any other photo and film shoots are basically subject to approval and charges. The Bavarian Palace Administration however sees the operation of drones as a serious potential risk for Neuschwanstein Castle and its visitors. We therefore exercise our property right in accordance with the German constitution (§ 903 BGB ) and, after weighing up the interests involved, prohibit take-off and landing on our property, among other things due to the crowds of people at Neuschwanstein Castle. In general, flying over crowds of people is not permitted (in accordance with Regulations [EU] 2018/1139 [Basic Regulation] and [EU] 2019/945 and 2019/947 and national law).
