My computer was performing so poorly I used my USB disk to do a full recovery of Windows 10. My laptop was cleared of all my files, apps, and settings. Unlike the last time I did this, no app folder became available on the start up screen to reinstall lost apps. All I got was a recycle bin. I tried to get them back from the Microsoft App Store but they will not download since this computer tells the App Store I already own those apps. How do I convince the store to download my apps back to this machine? One other question. Am I supposed to update my USB recovery drive to keep it current with updates? Locked Question. Anonymous 2021-11-11T16:18:57+00:00 I made all available updates to the Windows version that came off my USB recovery drive. I have a new flash drive coming to make a new USB recovery drive. I am afraid my apps are gone, deleted, and will not be placed upon a new recovery drive. They do not exist on this computer (I swiped it clean) so I do not think they will appear upon a newly made back up/recovery OS flash drive. (usb disk). The Mail app came with my recovery from my current USB drive. With each launch it tells me it needs updating, go to the store. I go to the store and it will not update but at least it is working. I wonder if de-registered this computer from the Store then registered it again as if I had sold it to myself, if that may clear the way to get apps but I am afraid the Store will recognize my data and once again tell me "I own," these apps, so it will not down load them. I wonder if I did a recovery from the internet if Microsoft would have within that new OS a reference to restore my apps, but then I think that type of recovery of the OS is just the OS, nothing else. 0 comments No comments I made all available updates to the Windows version that came off my USB recovery drive. Anonymous 2021-11-11T15:01:58+00:00 Thanks for the suggestion but no, the apps are not on my menu. My computer was wiped clean of all apps, settings, files by using a USB recovery disk. The MicroSoft store will not allow me to download them again since it says I "own," them so no downloading. Last time I did this the apps were waiting in a special folder on the start up screen to be reinstalled. This time....no folder, no apps, and I can't get them from the store. Thanks for the other advice. I will make sure I am updated and redo my USB recovery drive. I take doing that makes it so if it is needed there are not so many updates to download. The USB drive I have has never been updated so it put the original version of Windows 10 on this laptop that came with the computer. If I had of gotten the new copy of Windows 10 from the computer or from the internet, maybe the apps reinstall folder would have appeared. Now I'm stuck in limbo. I own the apps so the store thinks the apps are on this computer. They are not. 0 comments No comments Thanks for the suggestion but no, the apps are not on my menu.
